Day 22- Arc of Triumph

So, this is how my day went! I was walking home after school, just like always, when suddenly I saw people dressed in these amazing feather costumes! It looked just like Brazilian Carnaval, with all the plumes and the tiny bikinis. At first, I thought they were Brazilian, but they weren’t—they were just getting ready for the parade!
They told me to follow them, so I did! We went down by the river where the parade was just starting. Now, for someone like me who grew up with the actual massive Carnaval, watching this parade was kind of cute and funny. It was small—just two little groups with maybe 20 people each—but they were playing percussion music that sounded just like a real Carnaval bloco. Everyone was dressed in green and yellow, wearing those skimpy plume outfits or t-shirts that said “Brasil.”
I followed the parade for about an hour, just soaking in the music and the vibe. Everyone was having such a good time!
When I decided to head back, my walk home turned into a bit of an adventure. I don’t know what was going on with Google Maps—it works great for driving, but walking is a different story! It told me 23 minutes, but the cursor just wouldn’t move. I had to restart it twice! I ended up taking the scenic route and probably walked for an hour, but hey, at least I got my steps in!
